Have you ever noticed that, as millennials, we are the most self-absorbed generation yet all at the same time deprioritizing ourselves constantly as a virtue or even a lifestyle.
We prioritize work, friendships, relationships, sometimes even strangers’ opinions over our own mental health, interests, space, sleep, feelings, and just overall US.
You have to be your own advocate. Set boundaries, ask for more, disengage from painful dynamics, and make sure you're putting in the most effort to fulfill your own needs first.
Stop waiting for someone else to prioritize your needs. This is a recipe for resentment and a lower quality of life.
